Mapcao 1.0 arrives on the App Store and Google Play

The first public release of the map you scratch open by going there.

Mapcao started as an argument about whether a travel app needs a feed. We decided it does not. What it needs is a map of the country that is grey until you have actually stood in a place, and colour afterwards.

1.0 covers all thirty-four provinces. Opening a place requires being in it — the app checks your position once and then forgets it — and the resulting map is yours, on your device, with no account required to use it.

There is no feed, no follower count and no leaderboard, and there is not going to be one.
